HIV/AIDS Specialist

Before the World Bank-Pakistan funded Enhanced HIV/AIDS Control Program, Tariq helped mobilize first formal HIV/AIDS financing from UNFPA to pilot interventions for FSWs. He provided administrative and technical leadership to HIV/STI targeted interventions in various parts of Pakistan under Condom sales revenues and UNFPA funds. Overseen the management of HIV/STI products, services and information aligned with Pakistan
Enhanced HIV/AIDS Control strategy. Designed and socially marketed Pakistan’s first STI PPT Kit (Clear 07). Started condom revolving credit facility for disease prevention and contracted with 34 Pakistani NGOs. Hyderabad (Serey Ghat) has been a model project for targeted FSWs interventions in Pakistan.
